I tool love St. Bernadette and St. Therese. My mother also had lupus and died from it when I was ten. The 10th anniversary of her death was May 8th so it was a hard time for me. Your site is wonderful. God bless...I will say a novena to St. Therese for you.

Your story moved and touched me so much. I have rehumatoid arthritis and endometryosis. I was under cortisone for so many years and I experienced the same sufferings in looking at my changes! Anyway, thanking God I found a better treatment with Remicade that can lower my daily amount of cortisone. Wish you the best

It was quite by accident (if there is such a thing) that I came apon your web site. I have been seeking helpful sites to understand my diagnosis of fibromyalgia, an autoimmune disease, when somehow I found you. I am a practicing catholic, who just returned to the church after much spiritual and soul seeking. My roots in catholisism ae too deep to let me venture too far. God blessed me by bringing me to your site. When one is living in chronic pain it can either cause you to turn from God or turn to God. Thankfully, I have done the later. If I was allowed to develope this illness just for that reason, that is reason enough. I ask that you keep me in your prayers, so that I can be open to the will of God and be a light to others who suffer with this disease. Pray too, that doctors will do more research on this invisible monster that affects hundreds of thousand of people throughout the world. May the peasce of Christ be with you, this I ask in Jesus' name.

I have had positive answer's through Padre Pio. Truly unbelieveable. My prayer's concerned my best friend positively needing a micro-heart valve replaced, and another having a tumor on his bladder. My mother once told me that the Lord chastises those that He loves, and well, I guess what He is asking you to endure is affirmation of how very much He loves you! Dear Shelley, I was moved with an overwhelming compassion and at the same time with admiration for you during this difficult time of suffering that you are experiencing. My mother once told me that the Lord chastises those that He loves, and well, I guess what He is asking you to endure is affirmation of how very much He loves you! Hi Shelley. My name is Michealeena (Bernadette is my soon-to-be confirmation name) and I'm 13 years old. I was diagnosed with scoliosis in 5th grade. It wasn't a big deal then. My doctors made the mistake of telling us to wait and see what happened. I didn't get back to the doctor for two years and in that time it had progressed. My back hurt worse and worse every day. Once I finally got back to the doctor he said that I would have to be put in a brace that would postpone surgery. Well I opted for a more difficult route but more beneficial. It was a different kind of brace along with a certain diet, excercizes and chiropractic visits that would cost me 2 hours of my time 2-3 days a week. I've tried to be strong, I know that God is looking after me. But I still couldn't help but wonder "why do I have to go through this. why can my parents and brothers eat bread and all the foods i love and I CAN'T?!" It really depressed me. Then soon after I started having doubts about my faith. I heard that people with strong beliefs are mentally and physically stronger than those who doubt them. I just didn't know anything anymore. I mean, it was evident to me that there was a God, but other than that, I didn't know. Well I'm still grappling with my faith, but after reading your story and researching the story of St. Bernadette, I'm much stronger. I want to thank you for helping me realize I'm not alone, and that I really am blessed. I also realized that I'm a bit of a complainer and I really do need to work on that. Thank you so much. You are such an inspriation. I too was raised Catholic, but became agnostic until this April 26th and renewed my faith in Jesus. I am slowly trying to get back into Church.My Grandma is VERY special to me..she is 90 and very religious. When I came back to the church, she sent me her My Sunday Missal from 1934 and The Baltimore Catachism. I am awaiting her rosary so I can learn more....any guidance you can send me as where to start???????

Hello Shelley, Here a little message for you from the Netherlands. I saw your homepage today and it gave me courage. Me and my husband are going through rough times. We both are chronically ill and it is still going backwards. It is a hard struggle and sometimes it is too much to cope with.
